Q: How can I download the full version of the product?
A: There are no separate files for the evaluation and full versions. The evaluation version becomes the full version if you have the registration key. The registration message that you have received from us provides detailed instructions on using the registration key. That said, our software is always available for downloading in the Download Area.
Q: Do I have to back up my downloaded software? Can I get another copy from you later?
A: No, you don't have to back up the downloaded software. You can always download it from our Web site. It's advisable to back up the registration key file, but only for the sake of saving your own time in case you lose it, as you'd have to request a new one from us. We'll send you a replacement should you need it.
Q: Is ordering software online safe?
A: Yes. And here is why. Our online store is operated for us by our e-commerce partners PayPal, RegSoft (RegSoft.com, Inc.) and ShareIt! (Element 5 AG), the latter two companies being divisions of DigitalRiver, Inc. (USA). Object Rescue uses these prestigious and time-honored companies in order to provide you with round-the-clock ordering services and state-of-the-art safety and security when using your credit card online. If you buy our software online, you normally receive an email with your license key and advice on how to use it in less than a minute!
Q: I've placed the order. What next?
A: If you paid by credit card, your order will be processed by PayPal, the largest order processing company in the world. If your order is successful, you will receive a registration message from us. This will convert your evaluation version into the full version. You will find the detailed instructions in the registration message.
If you paid by check or wire transfer, you will receive the registration key as soon as we receive your check clearance or the funds are credited to our bank account.
Q: Do you offer special pricing for academic institutions, students, non-profit organizations, or government users?
A: Academic institutions and students - yes; please follow this link. Non-profit organizations - generally no, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis and we may offer you academic pricing depending on what kind of non-profit organization you are (e.g. if you are a children's charity organization, we'll most probably do that). Government users - no, we don't offer special pricing. However, you may qualify for volume discounts. All of the above applies to customers from any country.
Q: I'd like to purchase your product(s). What are the possible payment methods?
A: You can pay by major credit card (online, by phone, or by fax), PayPal or wire transfer. We recommend paying by credit card, as this is the fastest, most convenient and secure payment method.
Q: I do not have a credit card. Can I register Object Rescue software?

Q: If I purchase an activation (registration) code, how long will it take to receive it?
A: When you order online using one of our secure e-commerce providers, e.g. PayPal, your registration key is emailed to you immediately upon payment.
To avoid disruptions in your correspondence with us, please make sure email addresses ending in @essentialdatatools.com are not blocked by your anti-spam filters (Hotmail users are advised to add the above string to their Safe List).
Q: Do you have a reseller in my country?
A: Please visit the Resellers page to find out. Regardless of whether there is a reseller in your country, you can always purchase directly from us, no matter in which country you reside. We will always be able to offer a suitable method of payment and deliver the products to you.
Q: Can I get your software on a CD/DVD?
A: Yes, you can additionally order a CD/DVD by checking the corresponding box on the order form (available only when ordering via Regsoft). However, please keep in mind that this CD-ROM contains exactly the same files as the ones downloadable from our Web site. Except for a very limited number of situations (e.g. when your organization requires that a hard copy must be received as proof of purchase), there appears to be no point in ordering a CD-ROM.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: At Essential Data Tools, we want you to be happy with your purchase. That is why we encourage you to try out our products and technical support free of charge for 30 days before you make a decision regarding the purchase. By making the most of these free evaluations, you can fully test the software and make sure that it does everything you need. If you have questions while you evaluate the software, please don't hesitate to contact our support staff. Because of this free evaluation practice, usually we do not refund or exchange software purchases. Once we have created a key file for you and emailed it to the address specified in your order, the software is considered delivered and opened, therefore making it non-returnable. If you have any questions prior to your purchase, please contact us.
2. Activation
Q: Where do I enter my activation (registration) code?
A: Please see our tutorial page How to enter the registration code.
Q: I lost my activation (license) key - can you send it to me again?
A: Yes, no problem! If you placed your order online using a credit card, you can look it up here. For other orders, please ask our sales team. We will require some of the information that you used to register the software, (name, email, address,...) or the email receipt you received at the time. The more information you provide, the faster we can look up your order in the database.
Q: I purchased the program but when I enter my registration key it says that it is invalid?
A: Make sure you enter the registration key exactly as it reads in the email that was sent to you. The best way is to cut and paste this information from the email itself. Any problems, please contact our Support.
3. Purchasing Upgrades and Staying Updated
Q: I have an older version, how do I upgrade?
A: All upgrades within a major release are free. You can simply download the latest version here and unlock it with your "old" license key. Example: You purchased PhotoRescue Pro Version 2.0. Then all the upgrades within the major Version 2 (i. e. Version number range 2.1, 2.2, .... ,2.99) are free.
Q: Can you inform me when you update the software?
A: Yes, please subscribe to our free newsletter or RSS Feed. Updating your software is very easy: once we release a new update, simply download, install and unlock it with your license key. This way you will always have the latest version handy.
